Wanted: Hundreds of Entrepreneurs to Start Businesses Delivering Amazon Packages

On June 28, Amazon issued a press release announcing a launch of a new offering that helps entrepreneurs start up their own companies delivering Amazon packages. The press release implies that owners can earn as much as $300,000 in annual profits with startup costs as low as $10,000.

Over the past few years, the Postal Service™ has enjoyed double-digit growth in e-commerce packages but has now seen that rate of growth slowing. Much of the volume growth has come from its last-mile agreements with Amazon, UPS and Fed-Ex. Depending on the success of this new entrepreneurial initiative and other retailers signaling similar ingenuity, the Postal Service may see much of that revenue and package growth decline even further.
